Evron The local town of Evron with its fine Basilica has all major facilities and is just 15 minutes away by car. With supermarkets, restaurants, bars and cafes it's the ideal place to do your shopping as well as eat out. The main train line is also here and Evron has a good cinema and newly renovated indoor swimming pool. On Thursday mornings you will find one of the best street markets in the area. With local producers of hand made cheese, vegetables, fish and much more. You will also find our local tourist information office. Gue de Selle With in 30 mins walk for Le Chataignier this large lake and facilities gives visitors the chance of many activities. With children's play park, man made beach which allows swimming and has a life guard in summer. Has a covered area for picnics, cafe and 5 star restaurant. Pedalos, boats, fishing and other activities are available. St Suzanne This stunning medieval village known as one of the prettiest in France is just 30 mins away by car. It holds many events. During the summer months jousting can be seen close to the town. The castle, chateau and surroundings are a must visit and the local shops, bars and meandering streets will help you have a memorable visit. Mayenne Mayenne gives it's name to the department Le Chataignier is situated in. The church and chateau are really worth a visit as well as the town for shopping and restaurants. Laval With its large parks and good restaurants. This modern city has a wonderful Christmas market and stunning lights. It's well worth a visit all year round. Le Mans Speaks for itself, With it's 24 hour race track and 5 yearly events. The Jacobean city and marvelous shopping. Le Mans is a must. Roman events are often common place in the town and it holds a weekend of open air cinema each summer in the amphitheater. Fontaine Daniel This charming village situated not far from Mayenne is noted for the Toiles de Mayenne a 200 year old business that produces some of the finest cloth in France. The village holds an open weekend at the start of September. Allowing visitors to tour the factory. Although a visit at any time to there factory shop is worth while and the village tea shop with attached patisserie is a delight at any time St Mont Micheal The world heritage site of St Mont Micheal is approximately two hours away and is truly worth a visit. This spectacular site fully deserves it's status. With the Normandy landing beaches and other sites close by it good to now that it's just 2 hours away.
