Hello
welcome to my / our blog. Firstly the disclaimer..yes like millions of people out there I am dyslexic. I am also very sure I am not perfect and get things wrong from time to time. I do however strive to do my best.
Like every one I have my insecurities but hay I will have a go and that's what this is all about. I also hope I am open to criticisem but be kind.....................
Yes like every one I to am fragile aren't we all. But I do hope we can keep things good hearted and remember if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all.
Or as Ringo Star would say love and peace, love and peace.
So a little bit about us, me, my family.
Born in London, Hamersmith. I grow up in the south of England. I married John in May 1981 and have 4 children. My carrier has been varied from working with children to horticulture. After a carrier in nursing sadly John became ill and we looked to move to a quieter life in France with our son Alister and now Hugo.
After some searching we found Le Chataignier a 400 year old stone farm house on a 2.2 hector plot. Over the first couple of years we re built one of the cottages to live in and have only been in the main house for the last couple of years. There is still a staggering amount of work to do.
With in a sort time of moving here permanently we advertised for helpers via quite a few internet sites. Over the years this has helped us to re build and establish our smallholding. A long with two holiday cottages and an Eco project ( the shepherds hut ) our son and helpers have built.
The revenue from all three rentals helps with the renovation cost which are immense.
We bread and have allot of animals on site. At the moment we are lambing but also have goats, pigs and a horse as well as geese, turkeys, ducks and chickens. All of which are free range.
All in all we are trying to live the good life with all it's up's and downs.
My hope is via this blog is to keep people informed of what we are doing in all kinds of aspects from lambing to recycling. Share web site and information as well as our experiences.
Love and peace Karen
